Adding SMS Alert Service To Your Monitoring
Monitoring is incomplete without SMS service and this I found out when I was out with my family and friends for a party , did not check my mails and one of the service was down for couple of hours. Next day I had to provide lot of explanation to why service was down and no one took care of it and all the enjoyment of party was spoiled. Then it came to notice that we are lacking in alerting service. Searching for couple of ours I found a “Great” service called “PAGER DUTY”. It made my life simple. Now I do not have to worry about service being down and not notified, it just took away all the worries. Now I can go out with my friends and family and can enjoy as “I know someone is there who is monitoring all the services and will alert me in case of any failures”.
I thought of sharing this information to others who might need in order to make sure that Alerting system is in place and makes Admins life easier.
PagerDuty : A great service which makes you feel that there is someone who is ready to alert you in case of failures of services.
I am using this service from past 2 months and it helps me in alerting at the right time, so that I can fix all my issues well in advance before anyone notices it.
